Proficiency 2

Problem: Does the type of ball texture between a rubber bouncy ball, or a golf ball?
Hypothesis: I think that the golf ball will go farther because it is harder and will travel easier than the rubber bouncy ball that will stick to the ground and prevent it from going farther.

Reflection on Life

To me life is a very important. I am very lucky to have a caring family and great friends. To me you have to live your life to the fullest because you don't know when this day may be your last.I am lucky to be able to go to school and be taught things that will help me in my future. I am also grateful that i live in the great city of Pewaukee. I feel that everyone should take life this seriously and live it to the fullest. One of the most exciting things that happen in my life is when Christmas comes it seems like everyone is happy around that time. And all of the presents that you get just is awesome. I really do hope that my life goes on for a long time. I still would like to go to other amazing places like Peninsula state park and lots of other stuff. That's why I think that you should live life tot he fullest.

The Lie

A Literary Analysis of “The Lie”
Sixty percent of people have lied during a ten minute conversation. Lying is a very common thing to people. To me lying is not the right thing to do. In this story “The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.,” Eli is pressured by his father to get into Whitehill School and is forced to lie after he doesn’t get in. This story teaches us to never lie, and always to be honest. To begin with this story “The Lie” is written in the mode of comedy. In the beginning the life for Eli and his family is normal. They are arriving to Whitehill School for Boys to have Eli try to enroll in the school. Then the conflict arises- Eli is pressured by his dad Dr. Remenzel to get into this school because all of his relatives have gone there, and are famous there. I think that Eli thought that if he did not get into this school his father would be mad at him. If I was in his position I would also be a little worried that all of their expectations would fail over Eli not getting into Whitehill. After the very small sense of chaos the full conflict is realized by the main character which is Eli. When he realizes that they have to go to a dinner with the boss Doctor Warren. Eli is worried that Doctor Warren will tell his parents about his applications. Now the next plot in the Comedy plotline is the resolution is occurred. When right when Doctor Warren enter the room for dinner and Eli leaves right away. His parents are worried and wonder what happened.
The beginning of this story is good but the ending is very interesting. After Eli escapes the dinner he hides and his mom sees him. She talks to him and he said that he was pressured and felt like a failure and didn’t want to tell his dad. But after they talk to his dad he understand and at the end just like in the plotline it ends in normal everyday life when they go home.
This story has a very strong meaning and has a lesson to be learned. This story has a lesson that is never lie. It is in the ten commandments never lie. The only time that ever lie is when a stranger asks where your parents are I always say the shower because you can’t really say that I’m alone because you never know. In my opinion Eli should not be faulted because he was pressured so much from his dad to get into this school. Eli didn’t want to admit that he didn’t get in from all the hype. But I think that it would’ve been easier just to come out and tell his parents.
This story does have a good meaning but the conclusion is even better. This story has the plotline of comedy. The whole plotline makes sense with the story. Starts out every day life

My Summer

My summer was pretty fun. We went to a lot of cool places that really amazed me. The fartheset place away that we traveled to was to Arizona in Sedona before going to the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was awesome it was so far downn that the big hawks looked like little specks. We traveled on a train which was the first time I ever have done that. Basically every place we went there was a beautiful. That was the best trip ever.

Baseball Season

My baseball season for my team is starting. I play for the Pirates. I've been playing on the select team for 3 years and I'm hoping that this year is a good one. We have some new people on the team like Jason, Nick, and Brandon. So I hope that we can have a good year! The one thing tht I love about baseball is the Sunflower Seeds and how you pry open the shell to get to the seed. A lot of people don't know how to do it but us baseall players are the pros at spitting sunflower seeds. The other thing I love is when you get that big hit to win the game or when you pitch that strike that got you out of a jam. That's nwhat I love about baseball!

Spring Break in Arizona

Have you ever gone on a vacation that you will never forget? Over this Spring I went to Arizona to visit Sedona. Sedona is a smaller town but a lot of people go there for vacation. There are a lot of attractions. My family and I went on the Pink Jeep tour, stayed in a nice hotel, went hiking and had a great time; it is a fun time for everyone!
Over this spring break I went to Arizona. Our main reason for going to Arizona was to see the Grand Canyon, but along the way we stopped at a city called Sedona that was just waiting to see us. When we got there we did a lot of cool things but the one thing that popped out at me was something called the Pink Jeep Tour. The Pink Jeep Tours are so fun because when your riding the driver goes over all these really steep hills and trails. It’s kind of freaky looking over the edge when your riding. Actually my sister before we started going on the trails said “Dad are we going to die?” So my sister was a little freaked out being so close to the edge. The driver did say that you go over 2000 foot drops so that kind of freaked me out as well. It was all worth it going to the edge of some cliffs and seeing all of the beautiful scenery though. Overall everyone in my family enjoyed it and we’ll never forget it.
Although the Jeep Tours were fun, so was hiking all of the trails Sedona had to offer. We did a lot of hiking while in Sedona. But my favorite and I think the rest of my families favorite was the Bell Rock trail. Now the Bell Rock trail is not an ordinary trail that you are just walking parallel to the ground. This trail you could climb all the way to the top of the biggest rock in Sedona, the Bell Rock. Once we started climbing I kept seeing the ground get farther and farther away from me. Once we got up to almost the top we decided to stop and look at the view. And boy was there ever a view. When you looked down you could see the whole city and all of it’s mountains and forests. It was amazing to see all of that it was almost like a dream. That really made me remember when my family and I went to Mammoth Cave and saw all of the stalagtites and stalagmites I don’t really know why I thought of that but it made me think of that. But for some reason I did.
That vacation was the best I’ve ever gone on. I would definitely go back to Sedona again sometime. Going on the Pink Jeep Tour and hiking the Bell Rock Trail was so much fun. I’ve never had so much fun in my life. And I think that anyone would have fun going there. Me and my family will never forget it!!

Spring Poem

SPRING
Calm Day,
Walk outside,
Flowers blooming,
Raindrops bouncing off the windows,
Feet squishing on the muddy surface below me,
I feel the cold raindrops dropping down my face

What I'm Doing Over Spring Break

Over Spring Break I'm going to the Grand Canyon! I can't wait. But one thing that I'm worried about is that I'm a little scared of heights. So I'll see how I do looking over the edge. I 'm flying into Las Vegas and taking a train into the Grand Canyon. I've never ridden a on a train except for at the zoo. I can't wait to go there.

Favorite Winter Olympic Sport Matt Clark
My favorite winter Olympic sport is the speed skating because they make it look so easy. I would like to know how to speed skate one day. My favorite person who does the sport is probably Apollo Anton Ohno. He is the best at the sport. And is tied for the most medals in the winter Olympics with Bonnie Blair. I can’t wait to see him skate again.

Street Wise

This story Street Wise is a story about a guy who is living on the streets and is fighting for his life. This story shows that people on the streets aren't that much different than you and me. They just hit a bump in the road along the way. This story made me appreciate what I have and makes me feel bad for those people who have to live like that. No one should have to live through that. No food no shelter in less your lucky enough to get a shelter to sleep in. Even then all you here is yelling and screaming all night. No showers barely a change of clothes. It's torture.

Do you have one person that you look up too? A person you want to be just like. The person who I look up to and be just like would probably be Ryan Braun. He is one of the best young baseball players ever.
If you don’t know who Ryan Braun is he is the Right Fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers. Ryan is amazing at baseball. He got Rookie of the year in the National League. And also was put on the all star team his rookie year. He’s come a long way from his first year. In 2008 he led the Brewers to the N.L Wild Card but they did lose to the Phillies who eventually went on to win the World Series.
Last year for Christmas my dad knew that I really liked Ryan Braun so he went to an auction. On Christmas morning I opened a present that was amazing. It was a picture of Ryan Braun playing in college at Miami and it was signed by Ryan Braun!! I have that picture in my room. I will never forget that present from my favorite person.

Packers Are In The Playoffs

The Packers are finally in the playoffs and just waiting to beat Brett Favre and the rest of the Vikings.

Christmas Break

My break was a little weird. Christmas was fun but New Year's was one to forget. I was sick with the stomach flu and I was vomitting a lot. I didn't eat for 3 days and I lost 5 pounds by being sick. Then we went to my grandpa's house and my sister got sick on the car ride home so we had to pull over every once in a while. I swear that car ride took and hour longer than it should have taken. When we finally got home my sister kept getting sick. Then all of a sudden my mom got sick and me and my dad had to take care of them the whole night. That was my Christmas break.
